Welcome to St Barnabas Church, Southfields

PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE LATEST ST BARNABAS NEWSLETTER.

St Barnabas is an Anglican church in the heart of the Southfields Grid. St Barnabas welcomes young families and has a number of child-friendly facilities throughout the Church including a crèche, young worshipper group and toys on hand!

The Church has a large, active and committed congregation from the local area. It aims to be a place of welcome for people of every age and background, where a thoughtful and rooted faith can be found.

St Barnabas is in the liberal catholic tradition, and on most Sundays has 2 services. One is at 9am and the other at 10.30. At 9am there are no hymns but at 10.30 there are hymns and music provided by our organist, supported on a regular basis by our choir and music group. There are other services during the week- please see the programme to be found in the Worship section- and on a monthly basis one on Sunday evening, following the pattern of Taize, Iona or traditional Evensong.

Our new hall is now complete. It has been built to high specification with a number of environmentally friendly features including a sedum roof and a 'windcatcher' ventilation system. The new entrance will be from Merton Road and a new stained glass window developed from designs created by children from Riversdale and Sheringdale schools and produced by local firm Coriander will be visible from that road. For rolling news and reflections please visit Vicar’s Blog and consult the Events Calendar - here can be found details about future events at St Barnabas Church Southfields, plus information about Sunday readings and other matters.
